About MoneyMilestones

MoneyMilestones is an independent Australian resource that turns confusing money milestones — new parents, redundancy, salary sacrifice, car finance, paying off the mortgage — into clear numbers and plain-English guides.

Big work-and-money decisions in Australia are surprisingly hard to model. The rules are spread across the ATO, Services Australia, Fair Work and your own employer's policies, and a single number out of context rarely tells you what a choice actually means for your take-home pay.

We built MoneyMilestones to close that gap. Each calculator models the whole picture — for example, your full financial year of tax rather than a flat marginal estimate — so the result reflects what you'd really see, not a rough approximation. Every guide is written to be read in a few minutes and to answer the question you actually typed into Google.

What we cover

Our tools and guides span the moments that move your money the most: paid parental leave, redundancy and what you're owed, salary sacrifice versus your mortgage, novated and EV leases, business vehicle finance, and paying your home loan off sooner.

How our content is made

Figures are researched against the current 2026-27 rules and rates, and written to be practical rather than academic. When government thresholds or tax settings change, we update the affected tools and guides. Where a calculator makes a simplifying assumption, we show it as an editable field so nothing important is hidden in the code.

Independent, and not financial advice

MoneyMilestones is independent. We are not a government body, a bank, a lender or a product provider, and we don't sell financial products. That independence is the point — the tools exist to help you understand your own situation, not to push anything.

Everything here is general information to help you plan. It isn't personal financial, tax or legal advice, and it can't account for your full circumstances. For big decisions, it's worth talking to a licensed professional who can look at your specific situation.
